Mai, tells the story of a girl named Mai (Phuong Anh Dao) with a dark past and a difficult life.
Mai works as a massage therapist to support her daughter and father who likes to gamble. One day, Mai moves to a new apartment in a lower-middle-class neighborhood.

Here, she meets a young man named Sau (Tuan Tran), a playboy with an unclear job. He plays the piano at a club every day and loves to seduce women. Sau is a regular massage therapist in District 3 where Mai works. Sau falls in love with Mai and chases her. The tough Mai initially refuses and avoids him, but Sau never gives up until finally Mai gives in. Sau changes, he is no longer a playboy and starts to think seriously about his life.

Sau starts to think about accepting his mother's offer to run the family business.
