AGUSPRASETIYO.com - This anime film is an adaptation of the manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto, who captured the hearts of anime fans with Chainsaw Man.
The captivating visuals and profound message are the two main factors that made “Look Back” popular.
This anime movie tells the story of two female students who live their lives as close friends while competing as two talented mangakas in school. Check out the full Look Back movie synopsis below.
Ayumu Fujino (Yuumi Kawai) is a 4th grade student. She has a talent for drawing manga so her work can be published in the school newspaper.
Fujino's popularity is no doubt. She often received awards and achievements for her works until she was considered a famous mangaka in her school. Fujino's achievements since childhood made her grow up to be a confident child. Her talent for drawing manga also made it easy to get along with other students.
One day, Fujino found out that there was a student other than herself at school who also drew manga. That student is Kyomoto (Mizuki Yoshida). Unlike Fujino, Kyomoto is a more reserved student who rarely goes out. He even skipped school several times because he was too lazy to socialize.
However, Kyomoto's drawing talent was no less great than Fujino's. He could create manga that was so good that the school found out about it.
Fujino was then asked by her teacher to give Kyomoto a slot in the school newspaper. She found it increasingly difficult to contain her envy as Kyomoto's manga publication was flooded with praise. The situation fueled Fujino's ambition to hone her manga drawing skills. She worked hard to make her manga the best in the school.
Underneath it all, Fujimo and Kyomoto also began to develop a close friendship. They became close because they both love drawing manga, even though each other's personalities are in stark contrast.
Their friendship continues to be tested as Fujimo's ambition to become the best mangaka is still passionate. Look Back is a movie based on a manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto, the mangaka behind Chainsaw Man and Fire Punch.
