Synopsis of 1 Million Followers


The story of this 101-minute movie will explore the dark side of the world of influencers where the use of social media is no longer just sharing stories or posts but has become part of social status, which is seen from the number of followers. The story revolves around Karissa Denys (Shelley Q.), a girl from a small town with only 1,400 followers who are invited by a popular influencer to come with her to a mansion in Thailand. 

After traveling to Thailand, she experiences a life of luxury and is surrounded by beautiful female influencers. He was even helped to experience a significant increase in followers on his social media accounts. But everything turned into chaos when he found out who the sponsor behind this event was.

Through the movie 1 Million Followers, Director Harvey Lowry wants to tell the story of a girl from a small town who wants to be popular by becoming an online influencer with millions of followers. Starting from her desire to get millions of followers instantly, suspicion began to come to her when she found out who was behind that life and helped raise her followers to 1 million. Unfortunately, when the girl found out who was behind all this, she was surprised by people she didn't know who were doing inhumane behavior. They are concerned with their personal interests. So what is Karissa's fate after finding out who is behind all this? Can Karissa find out and succeed in uncovering the mastermind of the people who treated her inhumanely?
