Wang Zi Hao (Zhou Yuchen) is a 6th grade student from Shanghai living in Singapore. He has learning difficulties and often plays games at home.
His mother, Wen Ting (Hu Jing), is very hard on him and forces Zi Hao to study in various ways, such as memorizing English dictionaries, and novels, and taking private lessons.
Over time, Zi Hao's grades slowly improved and almost surpassed those of Jayden Lee Jun Wei (Camans Kong), the best student in his class. Seeing this, Jayden's mother Sophia Chew (Jae Liew) warns Jayden not to study with Zi Hao anymore. Their friendship begins to fray, and Jayden sees Zi Hao as her rival.
Amidst the tension, a new teacher named Mr. Lee (Glenn Yong) becomes the math and tutoring teacher in their class. Quickly, he is favored by the students for his intelligence and attractive appearance.
Meanwhile, Wen Ting enrolls Zi Hao in an English speech competition, hoping to improve his performance.
However, at the same time, she faces marital problems with her husband who lives in China and is unwilling to provide financial support, adding to Wen Ting's life burden.
