The Defects is adapted from a popular webtoon and promises a tense action thriller story about children abandoned by their adoptive parents, and their struggle to survive and get revenge.

Yum Jung Ah will play Kim Se Hee, the chairman of a large hospital and the head of a famous charity foundation. Behind the image of a respected celebrity doctor, Kim Se Hee runs an illegal adoption and child trafficking ring.

Driven by the twisted belief that only superior genes deserve to survive, she becomes the mastermind behind this horrific black operation. This role marks Yum Jung Ah's bold transformation into a cold and complex antagonist, a far cry from her previous characters.

Meanwhile, Won Jin Ah will play Kim Ah Hyun, a girl who was adopted and then abandoned again but managed to survive. As the leader of the surviving children, Ah Hyun becomes the emotional axis of the story and fights tooth and nail for justice, until finally facing an unexpected reality.

This drama is also Won Jin Ah's debut in the action genre, where she will show a strong and brave side that is different from her previous roles. Choi Young Joon also joins the cast as Woo Tae Sik, a member of a syndicate who secretly saves children who are victims of illegal adoption.

Haunted by guilt, he tries to atone for his sins by protecting and equipping the children with survival skills. Meanwhile, Dex, a rising young star, plays Jung Hyun, a "human weapon" who was raised by Kim Se Hee and runs the organization behind the scenes.
