A Killer Paradox is the latest Korean drama that carries the thriller and mystery genres. The series stars Choi Woo-shik and Son Seok-koo as the main characters. The story of A Killer Paradox centers on an accidental murder committed by an ordinary student against a hitman.
Lee Tang (Choi Woo-shik) is an ordinary student who works part-time as a cashier at a minimarket. He is also not someone who has any ambitions and wants to live a normal life. One night, Lee Tang meets a man in a dark alley. For no apparent reason, he is hit and slapped repeatedly by the man.
This action triggers Lee Tang's instincts, until unexpectedly he manages to defeat the mysterious man. He even kills him until he is dead.
After the murder, Lee Tang is shocked and realizes that he has a survival instinct like a wild animal that does not hesitate to destroy threats. The ordinary student also becomes scared and panics when he finds out that the person who was killed was a hitman and a big-time criminal.
Lee Tang finally realized that he had an instinct that could distinguish bad people from good ones. He also did not hesitate to kill bad people with his cold hands. On the other hand, Detective Jang Nan-gam (Son Seok-koo) was assigned to investigate the death case of the big-time criminal. He began looking for clues before finally meeting Lee Tang.
However, Detective Jang did not immediately conclude that Lee Tang was the mastermind behind the murder. He also did not arrest Lee Tang even though various clues pointed to the student. Jang actually took his time to dig deeper into Lee Tang's personality. Various observations were carried out to find out Lee Tang's true identity.
A Killer Paradox is adapted from a webtoon of the same title by Ggomabi. The webtoon was published from 2010 to 2011 through the Naver site. The story was then adapted into a drama written by Kim Da-min. Meanwhile, Lee Chang-hee was appointed the director for the 8-episode serial project.
Chang-hee was previously known as the director of Stranger From Hell (2019), a thriller drama starring Lim Si-wan and Lee Dong-wook. A Killer Paradox also marks the collaborative debut of Choi Woo-shik and Son Seok-koo as the main characters. In addition, this drama also stars Lee Hee-Joon.
