The story of this drama centers on the lives of five young lawyers who struggle every day to navigate the twists and turns of law and romance amidst the hustle and bustle of the Seocho legal district, an area known as the heart of the legal world in Seoul. Reported from Soompi, the shooting location focuses a lot on Seocho, a district that houses more than a third of the lawyers in Seoul.

Synopsis of Law and The City


The drama Law and The City follows the story of An Ju Hyeong, a senior lawyer who has served for nine years. Behind his cold and seemingly heartless demeanor, no one can doubt his ability to handle cases. He chose the legal profession not because of a moral calling, but solely because of the logical appeal and intellectual challenges of every case he handles.

Since the beginning of his career, An Ju Hyeong has never really understood or cared about the idealistic concept of lawyers as protectors of the weak or defenders of justice. Although he is considered a veteran by his colleagues and has managed to break records in income, he refuses to open his law firm because he considers it too troublesome. However, the peace that he has enjoyed so far begins to be disturbed as gaps appear in his routine.

On the other hand, there is Kang Hee Ji, a young, enthusiastic lawyer who works at Johwa Law Firm. In contrast to Ju Hyeong, Hee Ji is a warm, sociable person who believes that "changing one person's life means changing their entire world." He is known for his honesty and strong self-confidence, no matter how big or small his role in each case is.

Along with them, there are three other lawyers, namely Bae Mun Jeong, Cho Chang Won, and Ha Sang Gi. These five figures are not only co-workers, but also comrades who grew up together facing various legal cases. From tense courtrooms to casual eating together, they forge a warm and colorful friendship in the harsh world of law.
