Genie Make a Wish tells the story of a cold young woman named Kim Ka-young (Bae Suzy). Ka-young lives a monotonous life controlled by her grandmother, who disciplines her harshly.

One day, Ka-young discovers a magic lamp that is inhabited by a genie (Kim Woo-bin) who has been asleep for thousands of years.

After being awakened by Ka-young, Jin offers Ka-young, the owner of the lamp, three wishes. However, each wish has consequences for both Ka-young and Jin. Jin's presence brings various changes to Ka-young's previously monotonous life. Together with Jin, Ka-young experiences various miraculous events that elicit laughter from the audience.
