She plays Tae Jeo, a female correctional officer who has served in prison for 15 years. Her life changes when she hears the news that the mother of one of the inmates under her supervision, Mi Young, has passed away.
At the funeral, Tae Jeo meets Mi Young's daughter, Jun Young, and this brief encounter becomes a turning point in her life. Their relationship develops into a warm and touching story, shedding new light on their lives, previously filled with sadness and regret.
The film is directed by Cha Jung Yoon, who has previously directed several short films that have received praise at domestic film festivals.
Focusing realistically on the daily lives of prison officers and inmates, this film demonstrates how empathy can grow in stressful situations. The director was inspired by the 2008 documentary "3 Days at Cheongju Women's Penitentiary." He conducted extensive research since 2018 and filmed at a former prison in Daegu to create an authentic atmosphere.
In addition to Song Ji Hyo, newcomer Do Yeong Seo plays Jun Young, and Ok Ji Young plays Mi Young. Other supporting characters, such as Hye Rim, Han Gye Jang, and Eun Hye, add color to the main characters' lives.
