Lionsgate Motion Picture Group has appointed Ruben Fleischer as director for "Now You See Me 3." Eric Warren Singer, who previously worked on "American Hustle" (2013), is writing the screenplay.

The group faces a new challenge by recruiting a younger generation of magicians to uncover a massive conspiracy involving advanced technology and digital manipulation, as quoted by Cantika. The new team of young magicians makes a name for themselves using illusion-based strategies.

Eisenberg, seemingly estranged from his old crew, teams up with a younger group of illusionists to steal a valuable jewel from the villainous character played by Rosamund Pike. Pike joins as a mysterious criminal leader who poses a major threat to the team.

In the previous film, Now You See Me 2, the Horsemen carried out orders from The Eye, a secret society of magicians. Dylan Rhodes (Mark Ruffalo), an FBI special agent aligned with The Eye, arrives with new orders. Rhodes orders The Horsemen to uncover the illegal practices of a technology company led by Owen Case (Ben Lamb), the CEO.
