1. Made in Korea Drama Synopsis


Baek Ki Tae lives as a KCIA agent who appears to be loyal to the state. Behind his official position, Ki Tae runs an illegal smuggling operation to amass money and expand his influence. Baek Ki Tae's ambitions are not only for himself, but also to protect his younger brother and secure his position among the power elite.

On the other hand, there's Jang Geon Young, a prosecutor who can't be bought by negotiations. Geon Young possesses sharp instincts and a strong determination to pursue the truth. When a major incident shakes the nation, Geon Young slowly realizes that Baek Ki Tae is at the center of the scandal.

Made in Korea follows the struggle between Baek Ki Tae and Jang Geon Young in an era of prohibition and surveillance. The first season consists of six episodes, with two episodes airing on December 24th, the next two on December 31st, and then continuing until mid-January 2026.

2. Hyun Bin as Baek Ki Tae in Made in Korea


Hyun Bin plays Baek Ki Tae, a KCIA agent who lives with a dual nature. In public, Ki Tae appears neat and professional. However, behind the scenes, Baek Ki Tae orchestrates a smuggling network to channel money and illegal goods.

This role marks a new step for Hyun Bin, after gaining recognition for romantic dramas such as My Name Is Kim Sam Soon, Secret Garden, and Crash Landing on You. Hyun Bin has also been active in feature films, from "Confidential Assignment" to "The Swindlers" to "Harbin," which earned him a Best Actor win at the 2025 Blue Dragon Film Awards.

3. Jung Woo Sung as Jang Geon Young in the Drama "Made in Korea"


Jung Woo Sung plays Jang Geon Young, a prosecutor who is Baek Ki Tae's direct opponent. Jang Geon Young is not easily intimidated and refuses to compromise with corruption. When a major case involving Baek Ki Tae emerges, Geon Young chooses to risk his career and comfort to uncover the truth.

Jung Woo Sung has long been recognized as a top film actor, having starred in "A Moment to Remember," "The Good, the Bad, the Weird," "The King," "Steel Rain," and "12:12: The Day." Jung Woo Sung also won a Daesang at the Baeksang Arts Awards and Best Actor at the Blue Dragon Film Awards for his performance in "Innocent Witness." The acting battle between Jung Woo Sung and Hyun Bin is one of the main attractions that audiences are anticipating.

4. Won Ji An, Seo Eun Su, Cho Yeo Jeong, and Jung Sung Il in "Made in Korea"


In addition to the two main actors, "Made in Korea" also boasts an equally compelling supporting cast. Won Ji An plays Choi Yoo Ji, a lobbyist who navigates the grey area between business and politics. Cho Yeo Jeong plays Bae Geum Ji, an influential woman known for her roles in "Parasite," "Cheat On Me If You Can," and "High Class." Jung Sung Il plays Cheon Seok Joong, a chief secretary close to the centre of state power.
