Table of Contents
Disney+'s latest original Korean drama, "Bloody Flower," has officially released its first poster and teaser.
This Korean mystery thriller immediately captured attention with its unique premise: a serial killer who possesses the ability to cure incurable diseases. Rather than simply addressing the topic of serial killers, Disney+ is bringing a darker twist to the story.
More than just a typical mystery thriller, this series features a highly contradictory premise: a serial killer who holds the key to eternal life. Curious to see how this series manages to epically showcase two contrasting sides?
Check out the synopsis for Bloody Flower, a new Korean drama starring Ryeoun, Sung Dong Il, and Geum Sae Rok, below.
Bloody Flower Synopsis
The story begins when a man is arrested by the police on charges of kidnapping two disabled people. During the investigation, it is revealed that the suspect has murdered 223 innocent civilians. Furthermore, the perpetrator also conducted experiments on human bodies. This man is Lee U Gyeom (Ryeoun). A medical student who dropped out of college claims to be able to cure all human ailments.
He also claims to have developed technology that can cure all diseases. Not just minor ailments, but also various incurable diseases that cannot be addressed by current medical technology, such as cancer. Interestingly, testimonies from patients he has treated continue to pour in.
He promises to reveal all this advanced medical technology for the benefit of humanity, but on the condition that he will not be held responsible for the 223 human experiments he has conducted so far. He even threatens to commit suicide if he is blamed. And when he dies, the medical technology, which remains only in his head, disappears.
On the other hand, Park Han Joon (Sung Dong Il), a lawyer, must save Lee U Gyeom for his daughter, who is suffering from a brain tumor. Meanwhile, Cha Yi Yeon (Geum Sae Rok), a prosecutor who wants to sentence U Gyeom to death for the unjust deaths of 223 people.
The newly released poster features close-ups of the faces of the three main characters, creating a tense atmosphere. Lee Woo Gyeom's cold gaze, staring straight ahead, seems to challenge the viewer's conscience, while Park Han Joon and Cha Yi Yeon stare in different directions.
It seems to depict the clash of interests and moral choices they make. The teaser is no less thrilling. Opening with a scene of Woo Gyeom in a sterile operating room, the atmosphere suddenly changes drastically when he is seen wearing a prison uniform in the interrogation room.
"Murder to save the world," reads the tagline, inviting viewers to witness how the justice system collapses when faced with a "criminal" who is actually humanity's only hope.
