The horror film Nosferatu will reportedly hit Indonesian theaters in February 2025. It aired in the United States on December 25, 2024. According to Screen Rant, Nosferatu is a modern adaptation of the 1922 German classic film of the same name by director FW Murnau. Robert Eggers composed his own version of the story for the remake as writer and director.
Nosferatu Synopsis
Quoted from Britannica, Nosferatu is inspired by Bram Stoker's legendary 1897 novel Dracula, which is also the basis for many films and stories about the bloodsucking creature. Nosferatu tells the story of the obsession between a haunted young woman and a terrifying vampire whose infatuation leads to untold horrors in its wake.
The story begins with the journey of real estate agent Thomas Hutter, who wanders into Transylvania in the 1830s to meet a prospective client named Count Orlok.
During the trip, Thomas' new wife, Ellen, stays temporarily with their friends, Friedrich and Anna Harding. But during Thomas's absence, Ellen is haunted by terrible shadows and increasing fear. She is confronted by an evil force that has never been discovered before.
The Cast of Nosferatu
Quoted from The Hindu, Bill Skarsgard plays the vampire Nosferatu. He will act with Lily-Rose Depp and Nicholas Hoult, who play a married couple. The movie also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney, and Willem Dafoe. The movie was produced by Eggers alongside Jeff Robinov, John Graham, Chris Columbus, and Eleanor Columbus.
In 2015, it was announced that Robert Eggers would remake the German expressionist horror classic Nosferatu (1922), which starred Max Schreck as Count Orlok.
